1. Beer & Posters

When: Monday 14 & Tuesday 15 June, evenings · Included in registration

On both Monday and Tuesday evening, the poster sessions become the meeting's most relaxed science — cold beer, refreshments and snacks in hand while delegates walk the boards and talk with presenters.Many of theconference'sbest conversations begin there. Open to all registered participants, no sign-up required.

2. Conference Dinner — Deutsches Theater Göttingen

When: Monday 14 June, evening

Our gala evening takes place in one of the city's most beautiful venues, the historic Deutsches Theater Göttingen — a celebratory dinner with fellow delegates in surroundings that match the occasion.

Important: the Conference Dinner carries an additional charge of €70 per person and is capped at 250 guests. Places are first-come, first-served — we recommend booking early at registration.

3. Guided City Tours

When: Tuesday 15 June · Included in the conference fee (no extra cost) · Limited places

Guided walking tours through Göttingen's old town — the medieval market square, the half-timbered streets and the university landmarks where three centuries of science were made. A relaxed way to see the city and hear the stories behind it before the evening's festivities.

Included in the conference fee at no extra cost — but places are limited. Spots will be allocated according to the level of interest, so please indicate your wish to join when you register.

4. Bar Hopping

When: Tuesday 15 June, straight after the city tours · Included in the conference fee (no extra cost)

After the city tours, we takeyouto the town. Taking partcomes at no extra cost — it is included in the conference fee. Every participant receives onecomplimentary drink voucher (your welcome refreshment), whichyoucanredeem atone of the bars associated with the conference listed below — a low-key way to keep the conversations going into the night.

Tentative selection of participating bars (to be confirmed):

• NautiBar: a maritime-themed bar inspired by Jules Verne's “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” with little aquariums (miniature divers included) set into the walls and cozy, 1950s-parlor armchairs. Its real draw is the craft beer brewed on the premises: the in-house brewery isfittingly namedScholar for the university town, and pours ever-changing house creations such as the “Magister Pils,” the “Göttinger Ale” and the spicy “Irish Hottie Red Ale.” nautibar.de
• Trou (French for “hole”): a candle-lit vaulted cellar bar and a genuine Göttingen institution, run by students since the early 1960s. You would barely spot it from the street: a small passage and a steep staircase lead down into a rustic cellar of low benches and old wine barrels for tables. It is famous for itsAltbierbowle (a Rhenish beer-and-strawberry punch) — and, as local legend has it, a historic meeting spot for Göttingen's scientists. trou.de
• Thanner's: one of the most popular student haunts in town, right on the Wilhelmsplatz beside the university's main Aula, and almost always buzzing. thanners-goettingen.de
• Duke (Irish pub): a lively Irish pub with hearty food, plenty of beer and, on the right night, karaoke. duke-pub-goettingen.de

Bring cash: many bars in Göttingen are cash-only (the Duke is likely an exception). Your welcome drink is covered — but bring some cash if you would like a second round.
